Unquestionably, Mayra and Angel’s love story is one for the books. High school sweethearts, they were civilly married at 19 before Angel left for North Carolina for his military service. But they always knew they wanted to have a celebration that truly reflected their love and commitment. Fast forward some years, and their dream of a traditional Mexican Catholic ceremony surrounded by their loved ones became a reality. My team and I had the honor of capturing their love story as their photo/video team at their October wedding. Let me take you through their beautiful mariachi wedding, filled with love, tradition, and unforgettable moments.

Capturing Precious Moments

On our first phone call, Mayra emphatically expressed her vision of capturing a First Look with her father. On the wedding day, Mayra’s anticipation brought tears to her eyes even before he turned around to see her. It was certainly a heartwarming moment, and I’m thrilled we could make that happen for her.

At the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Vista, the couple exchanged vows in the traditional Mexican Catholic ceremony they had always dreamed of, complete with rituals like the lasso placement and coin exchange, symbolizing their commitment and unity. A live Mariachi band led the hymns during the mass, adding a vibrant touch to the ceremony.

Enchanting Photos at Balboa Park

Between the ceremony and the reception, we ventured to the iconic Balboa Park to capture breathtaking photos of the couple amidst the park’s signature architecture. The striking backdrop perfectly complemented the couple’s vibrant love and added a touch of magic to their photo shoot. Mayra, Angel, and their entire wedding party radiated joy and style as we documented these unforgettable moments.

A Lively Reception with Mariachi Wedding Magic

Afterward, the lively and energetic reception was brought to life by the return of the mariachi band. Meanwhile, the wedding party made a grand entrance, swaying to the infectious beats as they filled the room with laughter and excitement. Mayra and her father shared another heartfelt moment during their father-daughter dance, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Dancing the Night Away

Subsequently, the celebration continued as Mayra, Angel, and their loved ones danced the night away to the exhilarating rhythms of a live Banda. The atmosphere was electric, with an abundance of love, laughter, and happiness filling the air. It was certainly a night to remember, as Mayra and Angel celebrated their love surrounded by their closest family and friends.
