College applications, last games, last performances, a hundred "lasts" nobody has time to notice while they're happening. It's easy for portraits to become one more thing squeezed into an already full year, the kind that ends in a rushed, cookie-cutter yearbook photo that nobody actually likes.
The best senior portraits pay attention to who they've actually become, not just that they made it to graduation.
That's the difference the PMC approach is built around.
How we go from “nice to meet you” to
You get something to actually hold.
We sit down together and design your printed artwork from the finished gallery. This appointment is on the calendar before the session even happens, so you're never left wondering what's next.
Free to be completely themselves.
Unhurried, with room to move and be authentic. Simple prompts keep things feeling natural rather than stiff and cookie-cutter. Most seniors relax within the first few minutes.
Feel prepared, relaxed, and genuinely excited.
Before we pick up a camera, we talk through wardrobe, locations, and what actually fits your senior. If they're not exactly thrilled about being photographed, that's normal. We plan around it, not pretend it away.
"Paul is absolutely amazing! He makes you feel so comfortable, and if you're anything like me and don't know what to do with your hands, Paul is your guy!"
Every collection includes your guided session and a piece to keep — printed artwork, a custom album, or both — so what you walk away with is something finished, not just a folder of files.
Senior season books quickly, especially for weekend and golden-hour dates. Reach out early to lock in your preferred window.
I’m Paul Cooper, the photographer behind PMC Photography.
Every stage of life photographs differently, and senior year is one I've come to appreciate more than I expected to. It's a strange mix of nerves and pride, often in the same hour, and getting it right means paying attention to both.
That's why I stay closely involved throughout, from the planning call to designing your artwork together.
If this is the year you're trying to hold onto, I'd like to help.
Most sessions happen in spring or summer before senior year gets busy, though fall works too, depending on your timeline. Earlier is better, since weekend and golden-hour dates book up first.
Very normal. Most seniors relax within the first few minutes once the posing turns into just moving around and talking. If they're dreading it going in, that usually changes fast.
I'll send styling guidance ahead of time, along with outfit-change ideas for anyone who wants a bit of variety across locations.
I'll help you pick a location that fits the look you're going for — on-campus, a favorite park, somewhere meaningful to your senior, or one of my go-to spots throughout San Diego and Southern California.
