Families give me more to notice than almost any other session I shoot. In a single afternoon, I catch old habits, inside jokes, the specific way you all fit together as a unit — things you'd never think to point out because they're just normal to you.
That's why I stay closely involved throughout, from the planning call to designing your artwork together.

How much does a family session cost?
What if my kids won't cooperate during family photos?
That's completely normal, and it's not a problem. My priority is comfort and capturing memories. I'm not chasing perfect smiles on command. Some of the best photos happen in the moments between poses, when nobody's trying.
Most sessions run 30 to 90 minutes, depending on group size and how many combinations you want captured — full group, kids together, each parent-kid pairing, and so on.
How long does a family photo session take?
What should we wear for our family photos?
Coordinated colors that won't clash with each other or the background work best, not matching outfits. I'll send full styling guidance ahead of time based on your location and the season.
Yes, extended family and pets are both welcome. Let me know who's coming ahead of time so I can plan timing and locations to fit everyone comfortably.
Can grandparents or pets be included?
Can you photograph families with a wide age range of kids?
Yes — toddlers, elementary-age, and teens together is common, not a challenge. I build in time for individual shots and sibling groupings so no one's rushed and every age gets a moment that fits them.
We'll talk through what feels most like your family first — a favorite spot, somewhere outdoorsy, somewhere with meaning to you. Then I'll recommend a few locations that fit, including go-to spots around San Diego if you want ideas.
