When I heard that Sharan was planning a surprise picnic proposal for his fiancée, Leka, I knew it was going to be something special. The Perfect Seaside Setting for a Picnic Proposal
For his picnic proposal, Sharan chose Cuvier Park in La Jolla, a local gem perched right by the water. Because Leka doesn’t live in California, he wanted a location that would feel distinctly coastal: palm trees, salty air, and those classic San Diego cliffs. Cuvier Park delivered all that and more. The grass offered the perfect spot for their elegant seaside picnic, complete with champagne, florals, and a glowing neon sign that read “Will You Marry Me?” As a San Diego wedding photographer, I love photographing at Cuvier Park. Capturing the Magic at Sunset
After Leka joyfully said yes, we transitioned into a seaside engagement photo session. I guided them with light posing and natural prompts to help them relax and simply be themselves. I mixed natural light with off-camera flash to create a gallery full of cinematic, true-to-color portraits that reflected both their romance and their fun-loving connection.
