Rukia & Adam’s Classic Wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club
Gray skies over the Pacific. Wind coming off the bluffs. And a couple who didn’t let either one slow them down. Rukia and Adam’s March wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades was classic from start to finish. They focused on the people they love, the details that mattered to them, and a celebration that felt timeless. By the end of the night, the weather was just part of the story.

A Clifftop Club With Old Hollywood Polish
The Bel-Air Bay Club sits high on the bluffs above the ocean, just off Pacific Coast Highway. Its Mediterranean-style clubhouse, balustraded terraces, and palm-lined lawn all face the water. On a sunny day, the view does most of the work. On a gray day, it gets moodier. The clouds softened the light, and the wind kept everything moving. As a result, the portraits feel more cinematic than calm, which suited this couple well.
Crystal Heels and Cartier Rings
The morning started with the details. Rukia’s Jimmy Choo heels sparkled with crystals and sheer tulle bows. Meanwhile, their Cartier rings rested beside a bouquet of white roses. AmyHMakeup and Jessica Harp handled hair and makeup, finishing her look with soft glam and long, glossy waves. Before getting dressed, Rukia stepped out onto the terrace in a feather-trimmed satin robe. Even with the clouds rolling in, she was completely at ease in front of the camera.
A First Look and a Tribute to the Groom’s Father
Rukia and Adam shared their First Look on the terrace overlooking the bay. She wore an off-the-shoulder ball gown with a floor-length cathedral veil. Adam wore a sharp black tuxedo. Then Rukia surprised him with a gift: a pin honoring his late father. He wasn’t expecting it. For a moment, neither of them said much. They didn’t need to.
Vows Beneath White Roses
The ceremony took place on the club’s back lawn, with the ocean just beyond the hedges. A white aisle runner led to an arch covered in white roses and greenery from New Creation Floral, framed with sheer draping. The bridesmaids wore black, keeping the palette crisp and classic. Rukia’s father walked her down the aisle toward Adam. A close friend of the couple officiated, which kept the vows personal and relaxed.
Portraits in the Wind
After the ceremony, we headed back out to the terraces and the lawn. The wind had other plans for Rukia’s veil. So instead of fighting it, we let it fly. Those long, sweeping lines against a stormy sky became some of the most dramatic frames of the day. Sometimes the weather you didn’t order gives you photos you couldn’t have planned.
Heartfelt Toasts and Late-Night Burgers
Inside, the reception was warm and full of energy. The toasts managed to be both emotional and genuinely funny, with guests wiping away tears one minute and laughing the next. Then, late in the evening, an In-N-Out truck rolled up to the club. By then, Rukia had changed into a short white dress, ready for a night of dancing. Guests lined up for burgers, and the couple jumped in too. It was the perfect mix of black tie and California casual.
Rukia and Adam’s wedding proved that a gray sky doesn’t have to dim a great day. Between the tribute to Adam’s father, the windswept portraits, and a late-night burger run, it felt completely like them. Congratulations, Rukia and Adam.
