Kristin & James | Romantic August Wedding at Lakeside Estate | Fallbrook

An August Wedding at Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings

Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings has a way of making every wedding feel both grand and deeply personal. For Kristin and James, their August wedding was exactly that. From the sun-drenched garden ceremony to a moody, elegant ballroom reception, every moment felt like them. As their San Diego wedding photographer, I loved being there for all of it. This couple brought so much joy, warmth, and intention to their day. They made sure the people (and the pup) they love were right at the center of it.

Fallbrook Estate: A Southern California Wedding Venue Worth Knowing

Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings sits in the rolling hills of North San Diego County, and it’s stunning in every season. The property features a lush outdoor ceremony garden, a courtyard with a fountain perfect for cocktail hour, and a bright, airy ballroom with soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Lake views and open hillsides give photographers so much to work with. It’s one of my favorite venues to shoot as a San Diego wedding photographer, and Kristin and James’s day reminded me exactly why.

Before the ceremony, both Kristin and James shared First Looks with a parent. Quiet, emotional moments that set a tender tone for the whole day. They also shared a First Touch together, holding hands around a corner before seeing each other. It was a meaningful way to connect before everything began.

Style, Details, and a Very Dapper Corgi

Kristin wore a sleek crepe mermaid gown with a low open back, delicate lace detailing, and a cathedral veil with intricate scalloped lace trim. It moved beautifully on the hillside. James wore a sharp navy tuxedo with a black bow tie and black patent shoes, a classic look, with a clean modern edge. The bridesmaids were dressed in warm taupe satin gowns, carrying wild, lush bouquets in burgundy, mauve, and cream. The groomsmen wore coordinating navy suits with champagne ties.

And then there was Kipper, the couple’s Corgi, dressed in a miniature black tuxedo jacket to match the groom. He was fully part of the day, from the wedding party portraits to the reception details. Custom bar napkins featured a fine-line illustration of Kipper with the words “Drinks On Me! — Kipper.” A small sculpted version of him even appeared on the wedding cake. It was personal, playful, and completely on brand for this couple.

The ballroom reception carried a mood of dark, romantic elegance. White linen tables were set with gold chargers, black napkins, and alternating centerpieces of low garden arrangements in deep burgundy, plum, and mauve alongside tall, airy arrangements in cream and blush. Stone tile table numbers, rattan-framed seating charts, and a coupe glass champagne tower rounded out the design. Every detail felt considered.

An August Wedding to Remember

An August wedding in Southern California means long golden light, warm evenings, and portraits that practically photograph themselves. We made full use of the ceremony site and the open hillsides of the golf course, especially at sunset. My goal as their wedding photographer was to keep things moving smoothly so Kristin and James could stay present, spending real time with their families and guests rather than feeling pulled away. That was a big priority for them, and we pulled it off together.

Coverage ran from getting ready all the way through cake cutting, late-night snacks, and dancing. It was a full, beautiful day.

Kristin and James, watching you two celebrate surrounded by the people you love most was such a gift. Your August wedding was warm, vivid, and completely yours (and Kipper’s too). Wishing you a lifetime of joy together.
