A Celebration Filled with Happiness and Meaning
Ambar and Darrick’s late October wedding was a true celebration of love, joy, and family. Their day began with a heartfelt Catholic ceremony at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, followed by a vibrant reception at San Diego Mission Bay Resort. I loved working with this sweet couple, who were so full of excitement and happiness. They made their wedding day uniquely their own, weaving in heartfelt traditions and personal touches that reflected their love story beautifully.
A Timeless October Wedding Ceremony
St. Brigid’s Catholic Church provided a sacred and timeless setting for the ceremony. The warm wood tones, stained-glass windows, and grand pipe organ created an atmosphere of reverence. Lush florals lined the aisle, with blush and cream roses accented by greenery. At the altar, arrangements of peach, ivory, and eucalyptus framed the crucifix beautifully. The décor brought softness and warmth while letting the church’s architecture shine.
Ambar walked down the aisle in a stunning white gown featuring a lace appliqué bodice and flowing skirt. Her cathedral train was adorned with intricate floral designs that looked breathtaking in the sunset portraits later that evening. A sheer veil and a string of pearls added timeless elegance. Darrick wore a deep charcoal suit with a dark green bow tie and boutonnière that perfectly matched Ambar’s bouquet. Together, they looked radiant.
A Vibrant Celebration at Mission Bay

The ballroom reception was filled with thoughtful décor: a three-tier white cake adorned with roses, floral centerpieces in gold frames, and a custom guitar sign reading “Ambar & Darrick, Est. 2023.” Their sweetheart table stood against a greenery wall with a glowing neon sign, giving the space a lively and romantic ambiance.
Their first dance was choreographed to a song by Bayside, a nod to one of their favorite bands. Later, the best man surprised everyone with a live performance, making the evening even more memorable. Ambar’s gift to Darrick, a personalized guitar pick, was a heartfelt touch that reflected their shared love of music.
Portraits Surrounded by Scenic Beauty
Ambar and Darrick shared how relaxed and grateful they felt during their portraits, soaking in every moment together. We captured portraits throughout the day, from the church hall to the resort corridors, the ballroom, and the bayside marina dock. The sunset over the bay created the perfect backdrop for cinematic portraits that reflected both romance and joy. My goal was to give Ambar and Darrick time to enjoy these moments while also being present with their family and friends.
