A French-Inspired Hotel Wedding at the Westgate Hotel
Meghan and Nick’s hotel wedding blended elegance, joy, and heart. Their early March celebration took place at the Westgate Hotel, a downtown San Diego gem with French-inspired architecture and timeless charm. From the moment I met them, their joy was contagious. They were so excited to celebrate with loved ones, and it was an honor to document the beginning of their forever.
I loved working with Meghan and Nick, and not just because they were sweet and fun. But because they cared deeply about creating a beautiful day that felt true to them. And it absolutely did.

Elegant Style for a Timeless Hotel Wedding
The Westgate Hotel offers the kind of old-world charm you rarely find in modern venues. It features grand chandeliers, mirrored walls, and ornate details that bring French elegance to life in the heart of San Diego. Their ceremony took place in the ballroom, framed by baroque wallpaper, gold accents, and soft candlelight. As guests entered, the space felt warm and romantic. The chandeliers glowed overhead, and the elegant scent of fresh florals drifted through the air.
Meghan was the definition of classic bridal elegance. Her strapless satin gown with corset detailing and a sweeping train perfectly echoed the elegance of the venue’s French architecture. Her cathedral-length veil floated behind her as she walked, adding just the right amount of drama. She paired it with a pearl choker and a romantic bouquet of blush, mauve, and burgundy blooms.
Nick looked sharp in a black tux with a white brocade vest, layered over a crisp shirt and bow tie. His boutonnière echoed Meghan’s bouquet in tone and texture, with soft blush and ivory florals. Their wedding party brought the color. The bridesmaids wore deep emerald dresses, while the groomsmen looked sharp in classic black tuxes with green accents.

Refined Decor for a Downtown San Diego Hotel Wedding
As Meghan walked down the aisle, there was a collective hush and teary-eyed smiles all around. The moment felt tender, intimate, and filled with genuine joy. Floral pillars flanked the fireplace, designed in rich spring tones of plum, blush, coral, and mauve.
For the reception, tables were dressed in white linens with petite bud vases, vintage gold frames, candlelight, and seasonal fruits that added a soft European touch. Their sweetheart table mirrored the ceremony altar, with matching floral installs and a view of the room’s mirrored chandeliers.
They even incorporated something personal and meaningful: during their ceremony, they planted and watered a small houseplant together, a nod to their shared love of nature and a symbol of their growing life together. They told me they plan to keep it in their home as a living reminder of their vows and the roots they’re building.
Their portraits took place across the Westgate’s most iconic spaces, from the rooftop terrace to the grand staircase and softly lit foyer. I photographed everything from their getting ready moments to open dancing and their late-night dessert cart. We worked together to plan the day’s flow, from scheduling rooftop portraits during golden hour to coordinating the ceremony timing around the best indoor light, so they could soak it all in and still get the most out of their photography coverage.

A Beautiful Ending to a Timeless Celebration
Meghan and Nick’s wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are: graceful, joyful, and deeply intentional. Every detail, from the soaring floral pillars to the candlelit ballroom and the Parisian elegance of the Westgate itself, came together to create an experience that felt both timeless and deeply personal. Their day was filled with laughter, emotion, and the kind of beauty that lingers long after the last dance. I feel truly honored to have captured these memories for them, and I know their love will only continue to grow more beautifully with time.
