The Maybourne Beverly Hills is one of Southern California's most decorated luxury hotels, and one of the few venues in the Los Angeles area where the setting, the service, and the culinary program all operate at the same five-star level. Located at the heart of Beverly Hills' Golden Triangle, the property brings together Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, a warm California sensibility, and the legendary hospitality DNA of the Maybourne Hotel Group (the London-based collection behind Claridge's, The Connaught, and The Berkeley). For couples planning a Los Angeles wedding with serious ambitions for elegance, it consistently ranks among the most sought-after venues in the region.

The property was completed in 2008 by The Athens Group, opening originally as the Montage Beverly Hills. Designed by Hill Glazier Architects, the building was conceived as a modern homage to the great California estates of the 1920s and 1930s, with its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture defined by terra-cotta tile roofs, grand arched colonnades, decorative copper ceilings, fruitwood floors, and hand-painted murals. In 2010, it became the first newly constructed mixed-use hotel and residential project to achieve LEED certification, and the only new California hotel that year to receive a Forbes Five Star Award.
A new chapter began in December 2019 when the London-based Maybourne Hotel Group acquired the property. An extensive renovation followed, completed in 2022 under acclaimed interior designer Bryan O'Sullivan, who layered the classical Spanish bones with a California-cool sensibility: custom mid-century furniture, collectible modern artwork, and a palette of soft coastal pastels. The result is a property unlike any other in Beverly Hills, stately and warm, European in its rigor, unmistakably Southern Californian in its ease. Today, The Maybourne Beverly Hills holds the AAA Five Diamond Award, a top placement in Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards for Best Hotels in the World, and a Michelin Key designation.
The Maybourne Beverly Hills enforces a maximum of 280 guests for all wedding ceremonies and seated receptions, preserving its five-star standard of service regardless of how the event spaces are used. For standing social functions, the hotel's combined spaces can hold up to 500 guests.

The hotel's renovated suites are flooded with natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows, with custom mid-century furnishings and soft Californian pastel walls that photograph beautifully for bridal prep. For the groom's side, the dark wood-paneled Cigar and Whiskey Bar, with its rich leather seating and atmospheric low light, is a moody setting that makes for exceptional portraits.
The hotel's Canon Drive approach is a standout. Meticulously manicured front grounds, soaring palm trees, a grand arched Spanish-Colonial facade, and an ornate central stone fountain create a timeless, Beverly Hills outdoor portrait backdrop that reads classic and elevated.
On the third floor, the Garden Terrace frames ceremony and portrait moments against a backdrop of palm-lined Beverly Cañon Gardens and the Los Angeles skyline.
At golden hour, the ninth-floor pool deck at Dante Beverly Hills delivers dramatic elevated angles of the Hollywood Hills, with the fading light reflecting across the water in a way that is difficult to replicate anywhere else in the city.
The two-story ballroom's opera balconies allow photographers to shoot from floor level, looking up, to capture the scale of the 22-foot ceilings, the ring chandeliers, and the architectural grandeur all in a single frame.
Many couples extend their portrait coverage to a few landmark spots nearby. The Beverly Hills Courthouse, just minutes from the hotel, is a celebrated architectural subject frequently used for civil ceremonies before a Maybourne reception. Beverly Gardens Park, with its iconic Beverly Hills Sign and lily pond, adds a desert-meets-lush-garden visual element. And the historic Virginia Robinson Gardens, six acres of Italian-inspired terraces and palm forests, is a short drive away for couples who want something lush and secluded.
The consensus across reviews and industry feedback is consistent: The Maybourne Beverly Hills delivers the kind of wedding weekend that feels completely taken care of. Couples and planners alike praise the hotel's staff for operating a full step ahead and anticipating needs before they are voiced, which keeps the entire experience feeling smooth and unhurried, from welcome drinks to send-off. The bridal suites draw particular enthusiasm, with brides noting the generously sized rooms, luxurious finishes, and thoughtful details like Dyson Supersonic hair dryers as signals that the hotel genuinely sweats the small stuff. The culinary program is frequently called out as a major differentiator, with California-forward custom menus and bespoke pastry creations that read more like a celebrated restaurant's tasting menu than standard banquet fare. A small number of reviews note slower service at the rooftop restaurant during peak weekend hours and the occasional check-in delay during high-volume periods, but these are treated as minor friction points against an otherwise seamlessly executed experience. For most couples, the overriding feeling is one of being completely pampered, and many return for anniversaries.
