Brief History of Loews Coronado Bay Resort
In the 1980s, real estate developers Josef and Lenore Citron moved to Coronado from Arizona, bought the property site, and spent years developing it. Later, Loews Hotels purchased the property, and the resort opened its doors in 1991.
Sitting on a private 15-acre land, the 440-room waterfront resort was the first to feature a luxury spa, tennis courts, direct beach access, a private marina, and a working garden. The award-winning resort is now a hub of activities throughout the year with special activities and events for guests, from family fun activities to weddings.
