A Brief  History of Grand Tradition Estate



 

The venue is located in Fallbrook, CA, only a short drive from San Diego, and is a peaceful getaway as Southern California couples begin their next chapter together. The Grand Tradition was founded by the McDougal family in 1984, with the creative vision of creating a venue for the most beautiful and remarkable weddings. This hidden gem boasts 30 acres with three ceremony sites, two reception areas, endless gardens and greenery, seven waterfalls, and a heart-shaped lake at its center. For over 37 years, the charming grounds and lush gardens at Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens have hosted weddings to help make couples' big day memorable.

Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens offers three magnificent ceremony sites and two spectacular reception venues for the ultimate wedding celebration for up to 300 guests.

Beverly Mansion Gazebo

Sitting on the peninsula on the ground's heart-shaped lake, only steps from the mansion's back veranda, the gazebo is the perfect spot for couples to seal their love with a kiss in front of friends and family. It offers stunning views of the gardens with the backdrop of the calm water. 

Arbor Terrace

A magical, tropical-like ceremony site offering awe-inspiring waterfalls, towering palms, lush flora, and seasonal blooms. Arbor Terrace sits deep within the gardens for a truly private feel, while the triple waterfall backdrop offers a sense of tranquility and a unique backdrop for your wedding ceremony.



 

Compass Garden

The Compass Garden is a vibrant outdoor wedding ceremony location that feels both intimate and dramatic at the same time. The Mediterranean-inspired gardens surround the site, and the area features a waterfall backdrop for a truly amazing setting for saying "I do."

Beverly Mansion

When choosing the Beverly Mansion Gazebo or Compass Garden as your ceremony site, your wedding reception will be in this expansive indoor space for celebrating with up to 300 guests. The 12-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and grand staircase create a charming, traditional vibe. The room opens to the back veranda for stunning garden views as well.

Arbor Terrace

After a beautiful ceremony at Arbor Terrace, this open-air pavilion accommodates up to 230 guests. The space allows for the enjoyment of the garden's natural beauty while providing protection from unexpected weather. The large outdoor fireplace adds a sense of coziness and ambiance to your reception.

Price for Hosting a Southern California Wedding at Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens

The talented event specialists at Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens help ensure your big day is personalized to your desires and help to decrease the stress of wedding planning. They will handle the setup and cleanup of your event and provide delicious formal or buffet-style meals and signature, premium drinks for your guests. The specific details, number of guests, and wedding date will affect the cost of hosting your special day at Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens. WeddingWire states that the average price for a wedding ceremony and reception for 100 guests is between $19,000 and $22,000. Wedding bookings include dressing suites three prepared with hors d’oeuvres and one bottle of champagne, a champagne greeting for your guests upon arrival, padded seating, and parasols for your guests during the ceremony.

This San Diego wedding venue does have the following guest minimums, regardless of your customized wedding package.
  • Friday or Sunday weddings require a 100-guest minimum 
  • Saturday weddings require a 125-guest minimum 
  • Monday-Thursday weddings require a 75-guest minimum
