Galway Downs
The land that makes up Galway Downs has been a working part of Southern California's agricultural and sporting landscape for well over a century. The earliest structure on the property, a historic cottage built in the late 1800s, anchored what would eventually become one of California's premier thoroughbred training facilities. In 1968, the property formally opened as the Rancho California Track and Training Center, operating for decades as a preparation ground for elite racehorses bound for Del Mar, Santa Anita, and Los Alamitos.
By 2010, shifts in the horse racing industry had pushed the property to the brink of bankruptcy and suburban development. The Smith family purchased the estate to preserve it, undertaking a full renovation that transformed it into a world-class multi-disciplinary equestrian competition center, complete with 13 riding arenas, 500 stalls, and a one-mile racetrack. To support the estate's long-term financial sustainability, the ownership partnered with Wedgewood Weddings in August 2016, and the property has operated as a premier Temecula wedding venue ever since.

The Carriage House is the centerpiece of the reception experience. Soaring vaulted ceilings with exposed heavy timber rafters, polished concrete floors, panoramic glass walls, a double-sided stacked-stone fireplace, and a built-in wet bar give the space a polished, editorial quality that photographs beautifully and functions even better.
No Noise Curfew Restrictions
This is a meaningful advantage in the Temecula wine country. Because the reception is fully indoor, Galway Downs is not subject to the local outdoor noise ordinances that force many surrounding vineyard venues to cut music early. Live bands and DJ entertainment can run until midnight without restriction.
Exclusive Single-Event Policy
Only one wedding is hosted per day, which means the entire coordination team, culinary staff, and venue are dedicated solely to your celebration.

The venue layout at Galway Downs is designed to move guests naturally from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception without any awkward room flips or long waits. Each space is adjacent, distinct, and purpose-built for its phase of the wedding day. The estate accommodates up to 300 guests across all configurations.
The Meadows (Outdoor Ceremony)
The primary ceremony site sits within a mature grove of century-old oak trees that arch overhead to create a natural canopy. Stone-lined creeks run along the perimeter of the lawn, flanked by rustic wooden footbridges and flowing fountains. The altar area features a heavy-timber wooden arbor that can be customized with florals to match any design palette. Guests are seated on wood-finished chairs with clear sightlines to the surrounding pastures and paddocks.

The Courtyard (Cocktail Hour)
Immediately following the ceremony, guests transition to the adjacent paved courtyard for the cocktail hour. The paved surface keeps formal footwear clean, and the space is decorated with ornamental grasses and lit with overhead bistro string lighting. Built-in stone firepits and high-top cocktail tables give the space a warm, social atmosphere while the wedding party heads out for formal portraits.

The Carriage House (Indoor Reception)
The evening moves into the Carriage House, a modern barn-style reception hall with soaring vaulted ceilings, exposed timber rafters, and polished concrete floors. Panoramic window walls frame views of the illuminated pastures and oak trees. The layout accommodates up to 30 guest tables alongside a central dance floor, DJ booth, or live band stage. A double-sided buffet line and built-in wet bar are positioned along the perimeter to keep the floor open and the flow uninterrupted.

Base starting pricing for a minimal package begins at $11,265, before the standard 22% administrative service charge and applicable taxes.
